Henry Bergh is the founder of ASPCA which has been in existence since 1866. To view adoptable dogs, visit the ASPCA adoption center located in Manhattan’s Upper Eastside. You can also view the dogs listed on the website where you can filter by age and gender. When filtering by age choose from, young (one to three years), adult (four to eight years), or senior (nine to twelve years).

ASPCA adoption fees for dogs depend on size and age and it ranges from $75 to $250. This cost covers vaccinations, a medical overview, a pre-registered microchip, an animal behavior guide, spay/neuter, heartworm test, and a dog collar with an ID tag.

When adopting you have to go with a photo ID and a utility bill that shows your current address. They also need a written document to prove that dogs are allowed in the building you live in. You’ll also need a collar, leash, and harness.

Bideawee adoption fee varies depending on age. Puppies (under six months) cost $360, small breeds (adult dogs) that weigh under 20 pounds cost $260, and other adult dogs cost $185. ACC adoption fees are $250 for puppies under six months, $75 for seven months and over, and $150 for seven months and over dogs that weigh under 20lbs. The fees cover pre-registered microchip, collar, leash, spaying/neutering, heartworm test, vaccinations, and a certificate for a free exam. NYC residents incur an extra cost of $8.50 for a dog license. 

ACC runs promotions that give room for fees waiver. Pets for Vets promotion helps veterans to adopt a dog for free. Seniors for seniors is open to 60-year-olds or older people who get to adopt without paying the fees. The adopted dog must be six years or older.

More detailed information is on “My Story” and “My Info” parts. There is also a senior center page where the list of adoptable animals is all in their senior years. 

If interested in one of the dogs for adoption, fill out the application form and email it. The application form required information is your personal details plus other information divided into at least 20 questions. The adoption fee is non-refundable but I couldn’t get information on the exact cost.
